Tamarind (seedless or regular) – 3 tbsp

Jaggery powder (or sugar) – 4 tbsp

Water – 1½ cups

Spices

Roasted cumin powder – 1 tsp

Kashmiri red chilli powder – ½ tsp

Dry ginger powder (saunth) – ½ tsp

Black salt – ½ tsp

Regular salt – ¼ tsp

Optional but Common in Street Style

Dates (finely chopped) – 2 tbsp

Fennel powder – ¼ tsp
